Novae Caelum is an author, illustrator, and designer with a love of spaceships and a tendency to quote Monty Python. Stars short fiction has appeared in Intergalactic Medicine Show, Escape PodClockwork Phoenix 5, and Lambda Award winning Transcendent 2: The Year’s Best Transgender Speculative Fiction. As an illustrator and designer, Novae has worked in publishing, album art, and film, and stars clients include The Magazine of Fantasy & Science FictionFactor Four Magazine, SciFutures, Evolved Publishing, Phoenix Pick/Arc Manor, and New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors. Novae lives in Arizona with stars Boston/Beagle mix, Sammy (who is the cutest ever), and stars pet cactus, Larry (who doesn't bite). Most days you can find star with digital pen in hand, crafting imaginary worlds. Or writing alien poetry. Or typing furiously away at stars serial genderfluid romance novels, with which star hopes to take over the world. At least, that’s the plan. You can find star online at novaecaelum.com, on ArtStation, and on Curious Fictions.

Important Notes:

Novae Caelum (NOHV-eye KALE-um) is non-binary, trans, genderfluid/starfluid, and uses star/stars/starself (preferred) or they/them/their pronouns, Mx., and "person." An example of these awesomely celestial pronouns in use: This is Novae and star is genderfluid/starfluid. Star loves to write stars stories and has so much fun writing them starself. Because writing about space is AWESOME. More info on starfluid, xenogenders, and nounself pronouns.

Novae previously wrote fiction and made design wizardry under a different name.

Star is autistic and currently disabled due to a chronic illness. If you contact star, it might take a few days for star to get back to you. The gremlins did not eat your email! Well, probably. If it’s been over a week, you’re safe to email again.

Star is not on Facebook (technically, though star has been known to lurk in a few groups), Twitter, or Instagram, but you can follow stars shenanigans through stars newsletter.

Novae is an active member of SFWA and Codex. Star loves vibrant creativity and releases a lot of stars fiction in Creative Commons (CC-BY-SA). Star also has a full bibliography of stars works, because star’s cool like that.

(Novae is now getting twitchy talking about starself in the third person. Star had better stop now…star said as star typed on stars keyboard, ironically narrating stars life…)

Contact Novae at novaecaelum@gmail.com or use stars contact form here. For press kit purposes, please feel free to use the bio above and headshot. They are quite nifty.

And if you’ve made it this far, beautiful soul, and your mind is just a little bit blown by all the neopronouns and sparkly unicorn non-binary trans awesomeness, here, have a hug. You are fantastic. Thank you for making the world a better place by being in it. ♥️
